About the returns and recommerce machine learning role
- Build models that predict whether a returned unit can be resold, with little or no human handling
- Develop computer-vision models for defect detection, condition assessment and fraud, including inside sealed packaging
- Build disposition and routing models that send each unit to resale, repair, liquidation, donation or recycling
- Develop dynamic, condition-aware pricing for liquidation and resale
- Adapt worldwide Amazon models to India’s data, catalogue, languages and operations
- Own the full model lifecycle, from framing to monitoring and retraining
What Amazon is looking for
- 3+ years building models for business applications
- A PhD, or a master’s degree and 4+ years in CS, CE, ML or a related field
- Programming in Java, C++, Python or similar
- Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimisation, data mining, or parallel, distributed or high-performance computing

- Unix/Linux experience
