About the returns and recommerce machine learning role

• Build models that predict whether a returned unit can be resold, with little or no human handling
• Develop computer-vision models for defect detection, condition assessment and fraud, including inside sealed packaging
• Build disposition and routing models that send each unit to resale, repair, liquidation, donation or recycling
• Develop dynamic, condition-aware pricing for liquidation and resale
• Adapt worldwide Amazon models to India’s data, catalogue, languages and operations
• Own the full model lifecycle, from framing to monitoring and retraining

What Amazon is looking for

• 3+ years building models for business applications
• A PhD, or a master’s degree and 4+ years in CS, CE, ML or a related field
• Programming in Java, C++, Python or similar
• Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimisation, data mining, or parallel, distributed or high-performance computing

Nice to have

• Unix/Linux experience
• Professional software development experience
