How to prepare for this application

  • Modelling practice: be ready to formulate a capacity or staffing problem as a MIP on a whiteboard, and discuss relaxations and heuristics.

  • Simulation: give an example where simulation told you something an optimisation model could not.
  • Adoption: prepare a story about getting operations teams to trust and use a model.
  • Leadership Principles: Amazon interviews lean on them; prepare two or three STAR stories for each.
