Job Description
NTU’s Centre for Hardware Assurance (CHA) is hiring a Research Scientist in embedded and quantum security for its Physical Analysis and Cryptographic Engineering (PACE) team. The role secures embedded systems against classical attacks and emerging quantum threats by evaluating and implementing security architectures that include post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and quantum key distribution (QKD), with the aim of crypto-agility inside silicon and a robust hardware root of trust.

Key responsibilities
- Evaluate embedded microcontrollers and implementations of standard cryptography, including the move to quantum-resistant standards
- Develop and test non-invasive and semi-invasive hardware-security methods, focusing on PQC and QKD in embedded and IoT systems
- Design experiments and analyse data on hybrid quantum-security architectures
- Give technical evaluations and recommendations to project collaborators
- Produce reports and publications, and help plan the long-term project roadmap on hardware threats
What NTU is looking for
- A PhD or master’s in electrical, electronic or computer engineering with 6–8 years of relevant research experience or equivalent
- Experience with embedded systems
- Experience coding and evaluating cryptographic algorithms, specifically PQC or QKD
- Coding in C, Java, assembly, Python or VHDL
- Comfort with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and microcontrollers
