Job Description
Nu Quantum is looking for a software engineer to build the tools its scientists use to develop, test and improve quantum networking systems. The software team writes internal lab software as well as control and user interfaces for prototype products: firmware for embedded systems, graphical interfaces and automation of scientific experiments. You would work with FPGA and electronics specialists on quantum network control systems, in an agile team focused on quality.

What you will do
- Develop software that interfaces with Nu Quantum’s optics, electronics and mechanical hardware and with third-party scientific equipment
- Work with FPGA and electronics integration specialists on state-of-the-art quantum network control systems
- Build user interfaces for product demonstrators and measurement control
- Suggest improvements to workflows and system design
- Write high-quality, testable and maintainable code
What Nu Quantum is looking for
- Development experience in a compiled language such as Rust or C++
- Knowledge of embedded systems: microcontrollers, SoCs or FPGA soft cores
- A scripting language such as Python
- Standard practice: source control, continuous integration, unit, integration and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Strong communication and teamwork across disciplines
Nice to have
- Strong Rust skills
- UIs in Dart and Flutter
- Hands-on FPGA or microcontroller work, and Linux systems built with Yocto
- API and remote procedure call design
Pay and location
