The project

Wireless communication is changing quickly, driven by more connected devices, distributed sensing and intelligent communication systems. In this post you would strengthen research at the meeting point of signal processing and physical layer communication.

As part of the Signal Processing Systems group you would develop your own research vision and research line. The advertisement names topics including communication theory, modulation and coding, synchronisation, equalisation, estimation and detection, array signal processing, channel modelling and interference mitigation.

It also names emerging areas: integrated sensing and communication, large-scale antenna systems, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, near-field communications and machine learning for communication. Read the official advertisement for the full scope and the teaching expectations.

What you need

  • A PhD in electrical engineering, signal processing or a closely related field, with a strong publication record
  • A research vision you can state clearly and build a group around
  • A willingness to teach and supervise, since this is a faculty post
  • Read the official advertisement for the full requirements

Pay and conditions

Salary and benefits follow the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. The advertisement states no figure of its own, so check the scale for your grade. TU Delft adds a pension scheme, and the usual Dutch holiday and end-of-year allowances.

How to apply

Apply through the application button on the TU Delft job page and upload the documents it asks for. The advertisement says to apply no later than 15 November 2026.

How to prepare for this application

  • This is a faculty post, so lead with your vision. A research line you can grow matters more than a list of papers.
  • Name where you sit among the emerging topics. ISAC, RIS and near-field communication are the ones the group is reaching for.
  • Prepare for a teaching statement. Faculty applications at TU Delft normally ask for one.
  • Apply through the button on the job page. TU Delft only takes applications through its own system.
  • Check the Dutch 30% ruling. If you move to the Netherlands for this post you may qualify for a tax advantage that changes your take-home pay noticeably.
