Job Description
This RF device modeling job in Bangalore is in Texas Instruments’ SPICE Modeling Group. You will build compact models for RF transistors and passives. TI’s analog and RF designers use these models to design new chips.
At a glance
- Position: RF Device Modeling Engineer (full time, requisition 25017823)
- Where: Bengaluru, India
- Degree: PhD or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience: 5+ years in compact (SPICE) RF modeling for HBT/BJT and CMOS
- Apply: open until filled (re-checked 5 November 2026)
What the RF device modeling engineer does
- Extract compact models for HBT/BJT, RF CMOS, RF passive and GaN devices
- Work with circuit designers and process technologists on new RF circuit topologies (design-technology co-optimization)
- Develop new model formulations for emerging device technologies
- Automate the modeling infrastructure to speed up technology development
- Develop AI/ML-enhanced models and parameter extraction methods
- Validate models through measurement and analysis
Why this role matters
A chip designer can only trust a simulation as far as the transistor model behind it. This group’s models decide whether TI’s RF and analog products work on first silicon. The role also asks for new model formulations and ML-based extraction, so it has a real research side.
What Texas Instruments is looking for
- PhD or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years in compact (SPICE) RF modeling for HBT/BJT and CMOS
- The ability to plan work, lead technical discussions and work across teams
Nice to have
- Expert RF characterization and validation: s-parameters, noise figure, linearity (IP3) and harmonic distortion
- RF test structures, layouts, and calibration and de-embedding methods
- Compact models such as BSIM, MEXTRAM, HICUM, MVSG-GaN and ASM, and extraction tools such as ICCAP, BSIMProPlus and MBP
- Cadence tools, the Spectre simulator and Verilog-A
- MATLAB or Python, strong data analysis, and AI/ML and TCAD experience (the posting says these are highly valued)
Pay and location
The posting does not state pay. TI says it offers competitive pay and benefits, with country-specific details on its careers site. The role is based in Bengaluru.
How to apply
Apply through the official Texas Instruments job posting. Texas Instruments’s posting does not give a closing date, so the role is open until filled; ResearchJobs.in will re-check this listing on 5 November 2026. Check the posting for location and work-authorisation details before you apply.

How to prepare for this application
- Prepare a short talk on one RF model you extracted: the device, the measurements, the extraction flow and the final fit
- Revise HBT physics and the differences between MEXTRAM and HICUM, since the posting names both
- Be ready to explain de-embedding (open-short, thru-reflect-line) and how a bad de-embed shows up in fT and fmax
- Have an example of linearity or noise modeling, such as IP3 or noise figure fitted against measured data
- Show any automation or ML work: a Python extraction script, an optimizer, or a surrogate model you built
