About the coherent optics role
- Support the optical design of coherent transceivers
- Integrate optical modules into transceivers and transponder line cards, and meet optical performance targets
- Evaluate optical components and review schematics and layouts
- Write test plans, procedures and reports, and log design issues found in the lab
- Build test routines for key performance, and compare results with specs and OIF, OpenZR+, OpenROADM and ITU-T references
- Run and fix Python scripts in the test automation framework
- Work with firmware, hardware and optics teams, and represent optical design and oDVT in team meetings

What Nokia is looking for
- A bachelor’s or master’s in Optical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 3 or more years of experience in optical integration and testing of coherent modules or transponders
- Familiarity with optical characterisation equipment and measurement methods
- Ability to follow a design or test plan, troubleshoot bench issues and report results clearly
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
