About the sodium-ion Research Associate post at IIT Indore
- Make and tune sodium layered oxide cathodes with the right microstructure
- Build prototype sodium-ion full cells, with commercial hard carbon as the negative electrode
- Run structural and electrochemical tests, including GCD cycling, CV, EIS and operando XRD
- Write progress reports and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Why this role matters
A cathode only proves itself in a full cell. This post takes sodium-ion chemistry to prototype cells, which is the step that start-ups and cell makers look for when they hire.
Eligibility
- A Ph.D. in Electrochemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering or a close field
- Shown experience with cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries
- You can apply if you have submitted your thesis and are waiting for the degree
- Preferred: a good publication record on lithium- or sodium-ion batteries
- Wanted: pouch-type sodium-ion full cells, and good spoken and written English
- Age: at most 32 years
Only shortlisted candidates are called for the interview. No TA/DA is paid. IIT Indore may leave the post unfilled if it finds no suitable candidate.
Pay and duration
- ₹58,000 a month plus HRA if applicable
