Job Description

NVIDIA’s Clocks Design Methodology team (part of NVQuartz) in Bengaluru is hiring an ASIC CAD engineer to validate and build the clocking methodologies and custom CAD tools used across its SoCs, CPUs, GPUs and networking chips. It suits an engineer who enjoys writing tools in C++ and Python that thousands of chip designers depend on.

At a glance

  • Role: ASIC CAD Engineer, Clocks Methodology (req. JR2025033)
  • Team: Clocks Design Methodology, NVQuartz
  • Location: Bengaluru, India
  • Posted: 9 September 2026
  • Apply: open until filled (re-checked 14 October 2026)

What you would do

  • Own validation of clocking methodology solutions across product lines
  • Develop validation strategies, automation, quality checks and debug infrastructure
  • Build scalable tools in C++, Python, Perl, Tcl and NVIDIA’s internal CAD frameworks
  • Work with design, verification, architecture and QA teams to ship production-ready tools

Why this role matters

Clock networks reach every flip-flop on a chip and are among the hardest parts to get right at NVIDIA’s scale. The methodology team’s tools let design teams across GPUs, CPUs, SoCs and networking chips build clocks the same reliable way, so the work multiplies the output of many other engineers.

What NVIDIA is looking for

  • A degree in electrical or computer engineering or computer science, or equivalent
  • Strong programming in C++ and Python, plus scripting in Perl or Tcl
  • Understanding of ASIC design flows and clocking concepts
  • Ability to turn designer requirements into robust tools

Nice to have

  • Experience with CAD or EDA tool development for large chips
