Copenhagen Business School is recruiting an associate professor in marketing, a tenured post in its Department of Marketing, with applications closing on 20 October 2026. Pay and location

CBS does not publish a figure: appointment and salary follow the Danish Ministry of Finance’s agreement with the Central Academic Organisation. This is a tenured position carrying both research and teaching obligations, based at the CBS campus in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, with a start expected during 2027 and preferably no later than 1 September.

How to prepare for this application

  • Map your work onto one of the five named core areas explicitly. A strong marketing record that fits none of them is a weaker application than a narrower one that fits squarely
  • Choose your ten marked publications to make an argument rather than to show a total; the review committee reads those, not the full list
  • The teaching portfolio carries real weight at associate level — documented pedagogical qualifications are a stated requirement, not a nice-to-have
  • PhD supervision is listed as a duty. Say what you have supervised, or how you would approach it if you have not yet
  • Stakeholder engagement is named explicitly. Concrete work with firms, public bodies or industry associations belongs in the cover letter
