Job Description

Amazon’s Analytics Operations and Programs (AOP) team, which builds analytics and science for Amazon’s operations outside the largest markets (including India, Australia, Singapore, the Middle East and Latin America), is hiring a Data Scientist II in Bengaluru. The job includes building AI agents for data analytics, statistical and ML analysis, and supply chain science models.

About the ROW AOP role

• Develop AI agents for data analytics
• Analyse data with statistical and ML techniques
• Build analyses and models in Python or R and tools such as SAS or MATLAB
• Develop science-based supply chain solutions
• Document analyses and models, and keep up with new statistical and ML methods

Problems the team works on

What Amazon is looking for

• At least 2 years of data scientist experience
• At least 3 years with SQL, a scripting language such as Python, or statistical software such as R, SAS or MATLAB
• At least 3 years with machine learning and statistical modelling tools and techniques
• At least 1 year guiding or coaching a group of researchers, and at least 1 year working with or evaluating AI systems
• At least 1 year creating or contributing to mathematical textbooks, research papers or educational content
• A master’s degree in a STEM field, or equivalent STEM work experience

Nice to have

• A PhD in a STEM field
• Machine learning or data science experience at a large technology company
• Defining benchmarks for assessing GenAI model performance
• Multi-team, cross-disciplinary projects and quantitative business analysis
