Job Description

This semiconductor device modeling job in Gujarat is with Tata Electronics at Dholera. It sits in the PDK, Design Enablement and Design Services team of the company’s semiconductor fab business. You will measure devices, extract models and check them before release.

At a glance

  • Position: Device Modeling Engineer (full time, job ID 30079)
  • Where: Dholera, Gujarat, India
  • Team: PDK, Design Enablement & Design Services (Semifab)
  • Experience: PhD with 5+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s with 7+ years
  • Posted: 30 September 2026
  • Apply: 31 December 2026 (the end date on the posting)

What the device modeling engineer does

  • Support and add to the device modeling work at Tata Electronics
  • Run device characterization: DC, capacitance-voltage (CV), noise, RF and PIV measurements
  • Check the quality of measured data and analyse it systematically
  • Extract device models and run model QA checks before each release
  • Help improve the team’s modeling methods
  • Answer customer questions about the device models

Why this role matters

Dholera is the site of India’s first commercial semiconductor fab. A fab sells its process through its PDK, and the device models are the core of that PDK. People who join now help build the models that Indian and global chip designers will use.

What Tata Electronics is looking for

  • A strong grasp of semiconductor device physics, device modeling, and CMOS and process technology
  • Hands-on extraction and validation of MOSFET, LDMOS, bipolar and passive device models
  • PhD with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, or a Master’s with 7+ years
  • Good communication, customer focus and the ability to work across teams

Nice to have

  • Statistical variation modeling, global Monte Carlo and local mismatch modeling
  • Flicker (1/f) noise and random telegraph noise (RTN) modeling
  • Local layout effect (LLE), ageing and reliability modeling
  • Probe-station DC, CV, flicker noise and PIV measurements with parametric analysers, LCR meters and noise systems
  • Planning and designing modeling test structures, and Python programming

Pay and location

The posting does not state pay. The role is based at Dholera in Gujarat. The posting’s end date is 31 December 2026, but company roles can close early once filled, so apply soon.

How to apply

Apply through the official Tata Electronics page. The closing date is 31 December 2026 (the end date on the posting).

How to prepare for this application

  • Prepare one example of a full model release: the test structures, the measurements, the extraction and the QA checks
  • Revise LDMOS behaviour, since power and analog processes rely on it, and many CMOS-only modelers have not worked with it
  • Be ready to talk through statistical models: how you split global and local variation and checked them against wafer data
  • Review flicker noise and RTN measurement, including how you set up the bias and averaging on a probe station
  • Learn the basics of the Dholera fab project from Tata Electronics' own pages before the interview
