Job Description

Nu Quantum is hiring an electronics engineer experienced in high-performance analogue and mixed-signal circuits to support the development of its quantum networking hardware. You will design circuits to meet demanding specifications, build and test prototypes in the lab, and support their use across the company, working with mechanical, software and FPGA, optics, nanofabrication and physics teams. What you will do

  • Refine requirements and specifications for electronic systems with colleagues from many disciplines
  • Do design calculations and simulations and select components and equipment
  • Produce high-quality schematics, system designs and PCB layouts, and organise prototype manufacture
  • Test, debug and improve complex electronic and optical set-ups, and analyse the results
  • Keep accurate design records and support electronic systems across the company

What Nu Quantum is looking for

  • A degree in electronics, physics or a closely related subject
  • Industry experience or a PhD in analogue electronic design
  • PCB design tools, including design for manufacture and reliability
  • Electronic or electromagnetic simulation tools
  • Hands-on testing with oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and similar equipment, plus excellent communication and teamwork

Nice to have

  • High-frequency and RF design principles
  • Soldering and rework of high-density PCBs
  • Integrating sub-assemblies into complete systems
  • Altium Designer, LTspice or Keysight ADS; understanding of circuit noise; FPGA experience

Pay and location
