The CSIR-CECRI battery materials posts
- Project Associate-II, project IHP002604: M.Sc. in chemistry, electrochemistry or materials chemistry, plus 2 years of R&D experience. Desirable: work on carbon materials, biomass-derived materials, Li-ion or Na-ion battery materials, or electrochemical energy storage. Pay Rs 28,000 + HRA
- Project Associate-I, project FTT080602: M.Sc. in chemistry. Desirable: experience in Li-ion or Na-ion battery fabrication. Pay Rs 25,000 + HRA
- Project Associate-I, project SSP 22/2026: M.Sc. in chemistry or physics. Desirable: experience in lithium-ion batteries and testing. Pay Rs 25,000 + HRA
Why this role matters
India is building its own battery supply chain. CECRI is the CSIR lab for electrochemistry, so these posts give real hands-on cell work. A year here is strong grounding for a PhD or a battery industry job.
Eligibility
- The degree for each post as listed above
- Age: up to 35 years on the interview date for these posts. SC, ST, PwBD and women get 5 years of relaxation, and OBC 3 years
- Students in their final semester, still waiting for results, cannot apply
- People who have already served 6 years as CSIR project staff are not eligible
If many people turn up, the committee may shortlist on marks, higher degrees or desirable experience. Candidates already working in a CSIR lab need a no-objection certificate. The ad gives a Gmail address for queries, and it is the official contact.
Pay and duration
- Project Associate-II: Rs 28,000 a month + HRA
- Project Associate-I: Rs 25,000 a month + HRA
- HRA as applicable, or campus housing if available
