Job Description
This quantum measurement engineer job in Delft is with QuantWare, which builds superconducting quantum processors. You will run characterisation measurements on test structures and processors, at room temperature and in cryostats.
At a glance
- Position: Quantum R&D Measurement Engineer, full time
- Where: Delft, Netherlands (listed as on site; the text also mentions a hybrid set-up)
- Team: Research & Development
- Pay: Not stated as a figure
- Posted: 29 September 2026
- Apply: open until filled (re-checked 13 November 2026)
About the quantum processor measurement work
- Run DC, RF and microwave measurements on test structures and quantum processors, at room and cryogenic temperatures
- Collect, process and document measurement data for fabrication, device design and integration projects
- Help run and maintain cryogenic systems, microwave instruments and automated test set-ups
- Give the R&D team fast experimental feedback at each stage of development
- Track down anomalies, wiring faults, noise sources and set-up problems
Why this role matters
A quantum processor is only as good as the data that shows what went wrong in the last batch. This role produces that data. It is a good first industry step for a physicist or engineer with cryostat and microwave lab experience.
What QuantWare is looking for
- A BSc or MSc in physics, electrical engineering or a related field
- Hands-on use of electrical and RF lab equipment, such as VNAs, oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and signal generators
- Experience with cryogenic measurement set-ups, from industry or a university
- Strong interest in lab work, test automation and data acquisition
- Basic Python for data processing, analysis or instrument control
- Careful, methodical testing habits
Nice to have
- A PhD
- Familiarity with superconducting qubits, low-temperature physics or microwave engineering
Pay and location
The posting does not give a salary figure. It mentions a competitive salary, an 8% holiday allowance, a pension plan and a learning budget. The board lists the role as on site in Delft, while the text says staff work flexibly in a hybrid set-up. Candidates may need to pass pre-employment screening. The posting says nothing about visas.
How to apply
Apply through the official QuantWare job posting. QuantWare’s posting does not give a closing date, so the role is open until filled; ResearchJobs.in will re-check this listing on 13 November 2026. Check the posting for location and work-authorisation details before you apply.

How to prepare for this application
- Revise resonator measurements with a VNA: S-parameters, quality factors and fitting
- Know dilution refrigerator basics: wiring, attenuation, filtering and thermalisation
- Prepare an example of a noisy measurement you cleaned up, and how you found the noise source
- Show Python you wrote to control instruments or batch-process data
- Read QuantWare's public material on its processors and VIO technology
About QuantWare
QuantWare is a Dutch company based in Delft. It designs and makes superconducting quantum processors and sells them to other quantum computer builders. It promotes a 3D chip architecture it calls VIO.
