Job Description
The Centre for Quantum Technologies at NTU is hiring a Research Fellow in quantum-enhanced learning, agents and algorithms. The research sits between quantum information, machine learning, statistical learning theory, quantum thermodynamics and complexity science, with topics such as quantum advantage in data-sparse learning, quantum algorithms for learning and sampling, non-Markovian dynamics and resource theories.
At a glance
- Post: Research Fellow (req. R00025754)
- Centre: Centre for Quantum Technologies at NTU
- Posted: 11 September 2026
- Apply: open until filled (re-checked 14 October 2026)
What the post involves
- Research quantum-enhanced learning, quantum information science and related areas
- Develop new theoretical models, methods and algorithms
- Publish in leading journals and conferences and prepare grant applications
- Collaborate internationally and help supervise graduate students
Why this post matters
Whether quantum computers can learn faster from less data is one of the big open questions in quantum computing. This theory-focused post suits researchers who want to work where quantum information meets learning theory, in a centre with a strong international network. It is theory-focused, so no lab work is expected.
What NTU is looking for
- A Ph.D. in quantum information, physics, computer science or a related field
- A publication record in quantum information or machine learning theory
- Strong theoretical and mathematical skills
Nice to have
- Background in both quantum information and machine learning
Pay and location
NTU does not state a salary in this advertisement; research staff pay in Singapore follows the institution’s own scales and depends on qualifications and experience.
How to apply
Apply through the official NTU job posting. NTU’s posting does not give a closing date, so the role is open until filled; ResearchJobs.in will re-check this listing on 14 October 2026. Check the posting for location and work-authorisation details before you apply.
