QphoX is hiring an RF Electronics Engineer to help build its technology for scalable, networked quantum computing. The company develops optical interconnects for the control, readout and networking of quantum processors, and this role designs the hardware that delivers and detects RF signals in the SHF band, both at room temperature and inside cryogenic systems. QphoX says an in-depth understanding of quantum networking or quantum computing is not required, which makes this a good entry point for RF engineers who want to move into quantum technology.

What the role covers
- Simulate, design and measure ICs, PCBs and interconnects for high-integrity delivery and detection of SHF-band RF signals, at room and cryogenic temperatures
- Develop circuits for impedance matching of electro-optic and opto-electronic converters
- Analyse and present results in reports, presentations and technical discussions
- Work within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers
What QphoX is looking for
- A master’s (WO) degree in electrical engineering, physics or a related subject
- 2+ years of industry or applied research experience in RF circuit design, RF systems engineering or RF test and measurement
- A record of designing high-frequency circuits, components and interconnects
- Advanced knowledge of EM field solvers such as Ansys HFSS, Cadence AWR, Sonnet or COMSOL
- Practical microwave characterisation with oscilloscopes, vector network analysers and spectrum analysers
- Experience designing analogue circuits and PCB-based RF solutions, and an organised, rigorous working style
Nice to have
- Experience with Altium
