Job Description
Intel’s Compact Device Modeling Group, part of its Design Technology Platform organisation, is hiring a semiconductor device modelling engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon. The group builds the compact models that let Intel Foundry customers design with Intel’s newest process technologies, co-optimising process and design. It accepts a bachelor’s with 5 years, a master’s with 3 years, or a Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a related field.

What you would do

Why this role matters
Compact models are the bridge between a new transistor technology and the chips designed with it: if the models are wrong, customer designs fail. As Intel Foundry opens its processes to other chip companies, accurate and well-documented models become a product in their own right, which puts this group at the centre of that effort.
What Intel is looking for
- A bachelor’s in electrical engineering or a related field with 5+ years, a master’s with 3+ years in the semiconductor field, or a Ph.D.
- Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and compact modelling
Nice to have
- Experience with advanced-node device characterisation and SPICE model extraction
