IonQ’s Network and Security division in Geneva is hiring a Senior Electronic Engineer to develop complex electronic hardware from early prototypes to industrial modules. The work includes low-noise amplification, high-speed and RF signal conditioning, drivers for opto-electronic components, analog-to-digital conversion and power supplies, laid out on high-performance, low-noise mixed-signal circuit boards. You would be the analog and RF reference person in R&D, working with system, optical and firmware engineers.

What the role covers
- Design and verify analog, mixed-signal and RF/high-speed subsystems, from architecture through schematic and PCB to bring-up and industrialisation
- Design low-noise mixed-signal PCBs using good partitioning, grounding, shielding and layout practice
- Define block specifications with system, optical and firmware engineers, and lead trade-offs on noise, bandwidth, timing and EMC
- Plan and run lab bring-up and verification with structured, data-driven tests
- Guide subcontractors and suppliers, and improve the team’s design and review process
What IonQ is looking for
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronic or opto-electronic engineering, or equivalent
- At least seven years designing complex, high-performance hardware modules
- Strong analog and mixed-signal design skills (low-noise, precision, high-speed) and RF fundamentals such as impedance matching, transmission lines and filtering
- Signal-integrity and power-integrity practice on low-noise mixed-signal boards
- Schematic and PCB work in Altium Designer, simulation in tools such as LTspice, and hands-on use of oscilloscopes, spectrum and network analysers
