- Spot emerging research opportunities and turn them into research programmes that match Bosch’s technology priorities
- Lead research on new AI methods, algorithms and architectures, and build reusable technology assets
- Build prototypes and demonstrators to test feasibility, performance and scalability
- Push work on multimodal learning, knowledge-grounded AI, neural-symbolic reasoning and adapting foundation models
- Improve reasoning, reliability, explainability, robustness and efficiency of AI systems
- Publish, file patents and invention disclosures, and represent Bosch at scientific forums
- Build partnerships with universities and research institutes, mentor researchers, and move results into engineering teams
What Bosch is looking for
- 15–18 years of applied research in AI, machine learning and deep learning
- 3–5 years specifically in generative AI, LLMs, SLMs, multimodal AI or foundation models
- A record of leading advanced AI research or large AI programmes, and of turning research into working solutions
- Evidence of thought leadership through patents, publications at top AI venues or high-impact deployments
- Ability to set a long-term research roadmap and influence teams without direct authority
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of German (listed as a plus)
