Job Description
NVIDIA’s Seattle Robotics Lab is hiring senior research scientists to lead work across the robotics stack: perception, planning, control, reinforcement and imitation learning, and simulation. The lab’s past work includes cuRobo, DeXtreme, MimicGen and GraspNet, and it feeds Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab and NVIDIA’s Cosmos and GR00T foundation models. It is aiming at several grand challenges within two to three years.
At a glance
- Team: Seattle Robotics Lab, NVIDIA Research
- Location: Seattle, Washington
- Level: Senior: technical leadership plus hands-on work
- Apply: open until filled (re-checked 14 October 2026)
What you would do
- Lead and contribute to research on robotics grand challenges
- Work across perception, planning, control, RL, imitation learning and simulation
- Transfer research into NVIDIA’s robotics and simulation products
- Collaborate with teams working on Cosmos, GR00T and the Newton physics engine
Why this role matters
NVIDIA’s robotics platforms are used by many robot companies, so research from this lab can spread across the industry through its simulators and foundation models. The lab combines academic-style publishing with direct paths into products, which few industry labs offer at this scale. Senior scientists here both set research directions and still write code and run experiments themselves.
What NVIDIA is looking for
- Exceptional research and engineering skills with a proven research record
- Strong references and technical leadership
- Deep expertise in at least one area of robotics research
Nice to have
- Experience building widely used robotics tools or datasets
