Job Description

This analog IC design job in Bangalore is in Infineon’s GaN business line. You will lead analog and mixed-signal power management chips from architecture to silicon validation and production. The work needs strong analog design skills and a deep grasp of semiconductor device physics.

At a glance

  • Position: Senior Staff Analog Mixed Signal Design (full time, requisition HRC1705647)
  • Where: Bangalore, India; hybrid
  • Business: GaN business line
  • Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s in electrical, electronics or microelectronics engineering, or a related field
  • Experience: 8+ years of hands-on analog and mixed-signal IC design
  • Apply: open until filled (re-checked 12 November 2026)

What the senior staff AMS designer does

  • Lead analog and mixed-signal ICs from architecture through silicon validation and production release
  • Architect and design high-performance analog blocks for power management ICs (PMICs)
  • Drive design reviews, risk assessments and key technical decisions
  • Set design methods, verification plans and silicon debug strategies for first-pass success
  • Lead silicon characterisation and root-cause analysis during production ramp-up
  • Work with customers and applications engineers, and mentor junior and senior designers

Why this role matters

Gallium nitride (GaN) switches run faster and waste less power than silicon. They need well-designed drivers, sensing and protection circuits to work safely. This role designs those circuits for a fast-growing technology used in chargers, data centres, solar and electric vehicles.

What Infineon is looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, microelectronics or a related field
  • 8+ years of hands-on analog and mixed-signal IC design
  • Strong analog fundamentals and deep knowledge of semiconductor device physics
  • Design of voltage regulators, PMICs, gate drivers, current-sensing circuits and protection circuits
  • Experience leading complex IC programmes from concept to production
  • Strong debug and silicon bring-up skills, and work in distributed teams

Pay and location

The posting does not state pay. It is a hybrid role based at Infineon’s Bangalore site.

How to apply

How to prepare for this application

  • Prepare one gate driver or regulator you designed: the specification, the architecture, the silicon results and what you fixed
  • Revise GaN HEMT behaviour: gate voltage limits, dynamic on-resistance and why fast edges stress drivers
  • Be ready to walk through a silicon debug story, from the failing measurement to the root cause
  • Review current-sensing and protection schemes for fast power switches, including blanking and response time
  • Think about how you would mentor a team towards first-pass silicon on a new process
