About the forward deployed engineer role
- Deliver data solutions for leading AI developers and government agencies
- Work daily with technical customers, understand their challenges and turn them into solutions
- Design, build and deploy features across the stack, from front-end interfaces to back-end systems and infrastructure
- Run high-quality experiments quickly and iterate to meet customer needs
- Help shape Scale’s engineering culture, values and processes, and lead critical projects as you grow
High-quality training and evaluation data is one of the main bottlenecks in building better AI models. Forward deployed engineers at Scale build the customer-specific infrastructure that produces and delivers that data, working directly with the teams training the models.
What Scale AI is looking for
- At least 4 years of relevant experience (preferred)
- A record of shipping high-quality products and features at scale
- Strong coding, and the ability to explain complex technical ideas to technical and non-technical people
- The ability to turn business and product ideas into engineering solutions, and to adapt quickly as generative AI changes
Nice to have
- Large-scale data processing and distributed systems
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts
- Working directly with enterprise customers
- Cloud infrastructure
