Databricks is hiring a Senior ML and AI Technical Solutions Engineer in Bengaluru to help customers debug and keep stable their machine learning and generative AI workloads, including AI agent systems, on the Databricks platform, while building deep product expertise.

About the ML and AI solutions engineer role

  • Be the senior technical expert on complex issues across data pipelines, ML pipelines and AI applications, using deep knowledge of distributed systems
  • Analyse production workloads at code level and optimise them for performance, reliability, latency and cost
  • Diagnose and support ML and large language model deployments, including real-time and batch inference, autoscaling, monitoring and logging
  • Guide customers using Databricks AI for generative AI use cases, including LLMs, MCP and AI agents
  • Work with internal teams to influence the roadmap and product improvements
  • Share expertise through wikis, documentation and teaching

What Databricks is looking for

  • 8+ years designing, building and scaling data, ML and AI systems on-premises and in the cloud with Python, Scala and Java, with ML and/or generative AI expertise
  • Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Expert knowledge of feature engineering, ML frameworks, training, monitoring, drift detection and retraining
  • Experience building or troubleshooting LLM applications, and familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph
  • Strong MLOps and LLMOps, including evaluation, optimisation, validation and packaging
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience

Nice to have

  • Developing agent skills and plugins
  • Previous roles as a data scientist, ML engineer or AI engineer
  • Professional certifications; customer-facing experience is not required, but a desire to develop it is
