Job Description

IIT Hyderabad’s Department of Electrical Engineering is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate to design and fabricate superconducting resonators and vertical interconnects for quantum applications, on a project led by Prof. Shiv Govind Singh and funded by SRSTI Quantum Pvt. Ltd. It is an on-site, hands-on fabrication role for someone who already has postdoctoral experience.

Superconducting quantum processors rely on microwave resonators to read out and connect qubits, and on wiring that can carry signals in and out of densely packed chips. Vertical, through-chip superconducting interconnects allow chips to be stacked in 3D, a key step towards larger processors.

The position is on-site on the IIT Hyderabad campus. Campus accommodation is subject to availability, without the HRA component, as per norms.

Eligibility

  • Ph.D. with a B.Tech/M.Tech or equivalent in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • At least one year of postdoctoral experience
  • At least three publications in SCI-indexed Q1 journals
  • Experience in modelling and simulation (COMSOL/Ansys), micro/nano fabrication and clean-room protocols
  • Experience designing and fabricating resonators for quantum applications, and with superconducting vertical interconnects for 3D integration
  • A good academic record throughout, and good writing and communication skills
