Job Description
Prof. Samir El Andaloussi’s lab in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Karolinska Institutet is hiring a postdoc in mass-spectrometry-based proteomics. The lab develops ways to deliver proteins, RNA drugs and gene therapies into cells, using engineered extracellular vesicles (EVs) and lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). You will use quantitative, single-cell and phosphoproteomics to study where these delivery systems go, how they act and what they do to cells and tissues.

About the proteomics postdoc
- Characterise drug delivery technologies for ASOs, siRNAs, proteins and other nucleic-acid drugs, including EVs and LNPs
- Run quantitative proteomics end to end: sample preparation, LC-MS/MS and computational data analysis
- Use single-cell proteomics to study cell-specific responses to drug delivery
- Use phosphoproteomics to map signalling pathways and mechanisms of action
- Apply these methods in disease-relevant cell and tissue models

What Karolinska Institutet is looking for
- A PhD awarded no more than seven years before the last date of postdoc employment (extendable in special circumstances)
- A solid background in mass-spectrometry-based proteomics
- Practical experience in proteomic sample preparation, LC-MS/MS and quantitative proteomics data analysis
- Excellent spoken and written English
Nice to have
- Single-cell proteomics and phosphoproteomics experience (particularly meritorious)
- Proteomics work on drug responses, mechanisms of action, cell signalling or drug delivery
- Developing and optimising proteomics workflows and analysing complex biological samples
Pay and location
The post is a full-time temporary employment with a monthly salary. KI sets salaries individually under its collective agreements; the advert gives no figure.
