Job Description

DTU Energy is hiring a postdoc to lead the computational design of redox-active materials and electrochemical systems for integrated direct air capture and CO2 conversion (e-DAC), converting captured CO2 into multi-carbon products. The work is mainly computational, backed by experimental validation with an established experimental team. The post is three years, starting ideally 1 November 2026. About the e-DAC postdoc

  • Lead computational design and analysis of redox-active materials and electrochemical e-DAC systems
  • Design and optimise integrated systems for converting captured CO2 to C2+ products
  • Run modelling, data analysis and visualisation
  • Work with experimental teams and mentor junior researchers

  • A PhD in chemical engineering, materials science, computational or organic chemistry, electrochemistry or a related field
  • A strong publication record in electrochemical CO2 capture, conversion or integrated systems
  • Strong organisation and project management
  • Independent and team work, creativity

Nice to have

  • Experimental catalysis synthesis and electrochemical reactor design
  • DFT for CO2 capture and conversion materials
  • Python for data analysis and automation

Pay and location

Salary follows the Danish collective agreement for academic staff, with supplements negotiable under DTU’s salary structure; the advert gives no figure. The post is full time for three years in Kongens Lyngby.
