Job Description

Prof. Erik Hedman-Lagerlöf’s group in Karolinska Institutet’s Division of Psychology is hiring a postdoctoral researcher in clinical epidemiology, working under Assoc. Prof. Elin Lindsäter on stress-related ill health and persistent fatigue in primary care. The work starts with analysing clinical study data (mediation, moderation and prediction of outcomes) and moves towards a register-based programme linking a randomised trial with Swedish health and population registers.

About the clinical epidemiology postdoc

• Analyse clinical study data on mediation, moderation and prediction of treatment outcomes
• Work on register-based research on long-term healthcare use, sickness absence, medication and socioeconomic outcomes
• Own the research process from questions and analysis plans to manuscripts
• Act as a methodological resource for the team and initiate collaborations
• Develop your own questions and apply for external funding

What Karolinska Institutet is looking for

• A PhD in epidemiology, psychology, public health, medical science, biostatistics or a relevant field
• Very good quantitative methods, statistics and data management in R, Stata or similar
• Independent quantitative analysis in clinical or epidemiological research
• Peer-reviewed publications and very good English

Nice to have

• Mediation and moderation analysis, predictive modelling and machine learning
• Causal inference, longitudinal and survival analysis
• Register data or other large clinical datasets
• Good Swedish (particularly advantageous), health economics and grant writing

KI sets salaries individually under its collective agreements; the advert gives no figure.
