Job Description
Karolinska Institutet’s Institute of Environmental Medicine is hiring a postdoctoral researcher in environmental epidemiology for a two-year post. The research programme asks whether further cutting air pollution at already low levels brings extra benefits for heart and lung health, using nationwide Swedish registers linked to individual, time-varying exposure, with Danish data for comparison. The postdoc will also work in the BAMSE birth cohort, followed from birth to age 26.

The research environment
The Institute of Environmental Medicine is both a KI department and a national expert body that supports authorities on environmental health risk assessment. What Karolinska Institutet is looking for
- A PhD in medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics or a related field
- Solid epidemiological methods, especially in environmental health
- Longitudinal analysis with time-varying exposures and confounding
- Register, administrative or cohort data experience
- Strong R skills and excellent English
