Job Description
Stockholm University’s Department of Zoology is recruiting a postdoc for the ERC Starting Grant project EpiSex, led by Jessica Stephenson, on how sexual selection shapes epidemics. Mate choice affects who contacts whom, and choosing parasite-resistant mates may raise resistance over generations. The project combines experimental epidemics in artificial selection lines of guppies, AI-assisted behavioural tracking, mathematical modelling and lab experiments, with possible fieldwork in Trinidad.

About the EpiSex postdoc
- Establish and improve experimental epidemic protocols

The research environment
The Department of Zoology has around 80 staff, with several groups working on fish ecology, evolution and behaviour and on sexual selection in other systems.
