Job Description

NTU’s School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is hiring a Research Associate in embodied AI to help develop perception and control algorithms for robotic arms, integrate multimodal AI models (vision, language and force) with robots, and run experiments in simulation and the real world, including human–robot interaction.

At a glance

  • Post: Research Associate (req. R00025675)
  • School: Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
  • Posted: 2 September 2026
  • Apply: open until filled (re-checked 14 October 2026)

What the post involves

  • Develop and implement perception and control algorithms for robot arms and embodied AI systems
  • Integrate multimodal models using vision, language and force sensing
  • Run experiments in simulation and on real robots
  • Support research on human–robot interaction and intelligent control

Why this post matters

Research associate posts are a common first step into robotics research and toward a Ph.D. This one works on multimodal robot manipulation, one of the most active areas in AI, in a large engineering school with good lab infrastructure. It is open to bachelor’s and master’s graduates, which makes it an accessible entry point into robotics research.

What NTU is looking for

  • A bachelor’s or master’s in robotics, mechanical, electrical or computer engineering, or computer science
  • Programming skills in Python and robotics frameworks
  • Interest in embodied AI

Nice to have

  • Experience with ROS, simulation tools or vision-language models

Pay and location

NTU does not state a salary in this advertisement; research staff pay in Singapore follows the institution’s own scales and depends on qualifications and experience.

How to apply

Apply through the official NTU job posting. NTU’s posting does not give a closing date, so the role is open until filled; ResearchJobs.in will re-check this listing on 14 October 2026. Check the posting for location and work-authorisation details before you apply.
