Job Description

IIT Delhi has advertised three Project Research Scientist posts in medical AI under TRUSTMAPS, an ICMR-funded national centre for measuring and assuring the trustworthiness, privacy and security of medical AI systems, in the Department of Electrical Engineering, New Delhi.

• Project Research Scientist (Medical), 1 post: for MBBS, BVSc or BDS graduates, bringing clinical knowledge to the project

The advertisement does not list day-to-day duties; the project title sets the scope: testing and assuring medical AI systems for trustworthiness, privacy and security. The Non-Medical III row writes “five years?” and “three years?” with question marks in the ad, which look like typing errors for “five years'” and “three years'”.

Eligibility

• Scientist-I (Non-Medical): a postgraduate degree, including integrated PG degrees; or, for engineering, IT or CS, a four-year graduate degree
• Scientist-III (Non-Medical): a postgraduate degree with five years’ post-qualification experience, or a PhD with two years’ experience; for engineering, IT or CS, a four-year degree with five years’ experience, a PG degree with three years’ experience, or a PhD
• Scientist (Medical): MBBS, BVSc, BDS or equivalent
• Indian nationals only; SC/ST candidates may get a 5% relaxation in marks

IIT Delhi may set higher criteria for shortlisting. Shortlisted names are posted on the IRD website with online interview details, and only shortlisted candidates are contacted. A retired government employee’s pay would be fixed under IRD norms.

Pay and duration

• Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): ₹56,000 a month plus HRA at 30%
• Project Research Scientist-III (Non-Medical): ₹78,000 a month plus HRA at 30%
• Project Research Scientist (Medical): ₹67,000 a month plus HRA at 30%
• Contract renewable yearly, or until the project ends on 31 March 2031, whichever is earlier
