Job Description

This computational lithography job in Gujarat is with the Technology Development team at Tata Electronics’ Dholera fab. As an OPC (optical proximity correction) engineer, you will make chip patterns print correctly on silicon. You will build and tune OPC recipes for advanced process nodes.

At a glance

  • Position: OPC Engineer (full time, job ID 38935)
  • Where: Dholera, Gujarat, India
  • Team: Technology Development
  • Degree: Master’s or PhD in electronics, electrical engineering, semiconductor technology, physics, microelectronics or a related field
  • Experience: 2–10 years (the posting says this can be adjusted by level)
  • Posted: 7 October 2026
  • Apply: 30 October 2026 (the end date on the posting)

What the OPC engineer does

  • Run model-based and rule-based OPC for advanced nodes, and build and validate OPC recipes for critical layers
  • Run lithography simulations and study pattern fidelity across the process window
  • Carry out process window qualification (PWQ), hotspot analysis and OPC verification
  • Support resolution enhancement work: sub-resolution assist features, source-mask optimisation, inverse lithography and phase-shift masks
  • Find and fix mask-related yield and manufacturability problems
  • Improve OPC methods and automation, and document best practice

Why this role matters

A new fab must tune its OPC before it can print working chips. People who join Dholera now help set up these flows from the start. The posting also welcomes machine learning for OPC and hotspot detection, a growing research area.

What Tata Electronics is looking for

  • Master’s or PhD in electronics, electrical engineering, semiconductor technology, physics, microelectronics or a related field
  • 2–10 years of experience
  • A strong grasp of semiconductor processing, optical lithography, mask synthesis, process windows and computational lithography
  • Experience with OPC and RET tools such as Synopsys Proteus, Siemens Calibre OPC or ASML Brion
  • Knowledge of DRC/LVS, pattern matching and hotspot detection, mask rule checking and yield methods
  • Scripting in Python, Tcl and shell

Nice to have

  • Computational lithography and process modelling
  • Machine learning for OPC and hotspot detection
  • Foundry design rules and tape-out processes

Pay and location

The posting does not state pay. The role is at the Dholera fab in Gujarat. The posting’s end date is 30 October 2026.

How to apply

Apply through the official Tata Electronics page. The closing date is 30 October 2026 (the end date on the posting).

How to prepare for this application

  • Prepare one OPC recipe you built or tuned: the layer, the model, the checks, and how you closed the remaining hotspots
  • Revise the optics: Rayleigh resolution, depth of focus, k1, and how illumination shape affects them
  • Be ready to compare model-based OPC with inverse lithography, and when SRAFs help or hurt
  • Explain how you would run a process window qualification and read its results
  • Show a Python or Tcl script that sped up your OPC or verification work
