What the microbiology R&D associate does
- Plan microbiology strategies with formulation scientists for short- and long-term product claims
- Test the antimicrobial efficacy of prototype formulas, finished products, ingredients and competitor products
- Explore new claims, demonstrations and test methods, and scout their feasibility
- Advise formulators on active ingredients and antibacterial efficacy
- Work with external labs, expert advisers, global microbiology colleagues and legal and regulatory teams
- Analyse results, write technical reports, and lead and develop junior team members
