Abhay Singh Dulta
About Candidate
PhD student in physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, working towards a research career in photonic quantum technologies. Previously a visiting student in the Light and Matter Physics Group at the Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru, and an MSc physics graduate of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
Research interests: quantum computing and quantum information, quantum optics, and atomic, molecular and optical physics. Particular interests in photonic quantum communication and QKD protocols, ultracold and cold atom arrays and trapped ions for information processing and quantum sensing and memories, quantum walks and their links to randomness and cryptography, and the use of quantum algorithms to model stochastic processes.
Research experience: Rydberg spectroscopy of cold atoms at the Raman Research Institute, covering trap frequency measurements of a magneto-optical trap, second-order correlation measurements on Rydberg atoms, and laser stabilisation using the Pound-Drever-Hall technique. Earlier work includes a quantum simulation of the Jaynes-Cummings model on the IBM Q system, at pre-print stage, and a master’s thesis simulating a Markov-chain model of COVID-19 spread and the effect of vaccination and preventive measures on the IBMQ platform.
Tools and methods: Python, C, MATLAB, SCILAB, SQL and Qiskit, on Linux, macOS and Windows.
