About the grocery computer vision role

• Design, train and evaluate CV and ML models for product identification, shelf perception and scene understanding
• Analyse data to understand image variability, catalogue gaps and label noise
• Own models from experiment to deployment, with engineers, meeting latency and throughput requirements
• Design offline and online evaluation, and improve data pipelines and annotation, including active learning
• Follow research in computer vision, multimodal and representation learning, and communicate results clearly

What Amazon is looking for

• At least 3 years of building models for business applications
• A PhD or a master’s degree
• Patents or publications at top peer-reviewed conferences or journals
• Programming in Java, C++, Python or a related language

Nice to have

• At least 2 years building and deploying CV models (detection, classification, segmentation or visual search) on real-world data
• Taking a model from prototype to production, including latency optimisation
• Working with noisy or sparse data using semi-supervised learning, active learning, weak supervision or synthetic data
