Job Description
Wayve’s simulation team in London is hiring a machine learning engineer for synthetic data. The role builds, scales and optimises Wayve’s generative world models (GAIA and its successors) and connects them to high-throughput generation and training, so that synthetic driving data can speed up autonomy development. Work includes post-training world models for new vehicles and behaviours.

What you would do
- Build, scale and optimise next-generation world model architectures (GAIA and successors)
- Post-train world models for new embodiments and behaviours, such as rig and pose transfer and dashcam restaging
- Generate multimodal synthetic driving experience at scale
- Connect generation to training infrastructure so synthetic data improves driving models
Why this role matters
Real driving data rarely contains enough of the rare, dangerous situations a self-driving system must handle. Generative world models can create them on demand, and Wayve’s GAIA models are among the best known. This role turns those models into a data engine that directly speeds up how quickly autonomy can be trained and tested, and it builds skills in generative video that are in high demand well beyond driving.
What Wayve is looking for
- Strong ML engineering with large generative models
- Experience with distributed training and high-throughput data pipelines
- Understanding of video or world models
