Why this role matters
IISER Berhampur is one of the newer IISERs, and its departments are still growing. Joining now can mean working closely with a young faculty member who is building a lab. The January start suits students who cleared NET, GATE or a JRF exam this year.
Eligibility
- An MSc, MCA or MTech in the relevant subject with at least 60% marks or CGPA/CPI 7.0/10 overall (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PwD)
- A valid national-level qualification is mandatory: NET, GATE, UGC-JRF, CSIR-JRF, DBT (JRF A), ICMR (JRF category I), NET-LS, INSPIRE-PhD, JGEEBILS, JEST or another recognised score, valid at admission
- No national test is needed for BTech/BE/BS graduates of a CFTI with CGPA of 8.0 or more, IISER BS-MS graduates with CGPA of 8.0 or more, or exceptional MBBS graduates
- Candidates with their own external fellowship may apply to any department
- Age: not more than 28 at joining; 3 years’ relaxation for OBC-NCL and 5 years for SC/ST/PwD and women
Final-year students may apply, but a provisional degree certificate is mandatory at admission. All communication is by email. SC/ST candidates get travel allowance for the interview as per Government of India norms. One contact address for Computer Science in the ad reads “iisrbpr”, without the “e”; it appears to be a typo, so use the HoD address for that department.
