Job Description
Prof. Camilla Björkegren’s lab in Karolinska Institutet’s Department of Cell and Molecular Biology is hiring a postdoctoral researcher in chromosome organisation and function. The lab studies SMC protein complexes, which control chromosome 3D organisation, repair and segregation, with a focus on the Smc5/6 complex. The current work explores a newly found link between SMC complexes, chromosome 3D organisation and DNA supercoiling caused by transcription.

About the chromosome biology postdoc
- Study SMC complex dynamics and chromosome interactions in human cells, in normal and genetically modified cell lines
- Investigate the connection between SMC complexes and DNA supercoiling
- Develop new lines of investigation as you gain experience
- Present results at seminars and conferences and write papers
- Work in an international team covering biochemistry, molecular and cell biology and bioinformatics
