Job Description
Janina Seubert’s research group in Karolinska Institutet’s Department of Clinical Neuroscience is hiring a postdoctoral researcher in nutritional neuroscience. The project combines smell and taste perception, reward processing and eating-disorder research to understand how the brain uses sensory input to regulate food intake, what neural mechanisms lie behind the pleasantness and motivational value of food, and whether problems in these mechanisms contribute to eating disorders.

About the nutritional neuroscience postdoc
- Study behavioural mechanisms behind the pleasantness and motivational value of food, and how they start reward-seeking

What Karolinska Institutet is looking for
- A PhD or equivalent by the employment decision (within three years is an advantage)
- Research experience in psychology or cognitive neuroscience, including behavioural experiments and functional MRI
- Documented experience working with odorants or flavours, such as mixing, pipetting and sensory measurement
- Brain imaging processing and analysis with packages such as SPM or FSL, and programming in Python, R and MATLAB
- First-author publications and very good English
Nice to have
- Eating-disorder or genetic research experience (a strong advantage)
- Basic Swedish

KI sets salaries individually under its collective agreements; the advert gives no figure.
