Job Description
The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad, is holding a walk-in interview for a Project Technical Support-III post on an ICMR project building a pre-clinical model of limb girdle muscular dystrophy type 2A, focused on India-specific Agarwal founder mutations, in the lab of Dr. Sam J. Mathew.
At a glance
- Position: Project Technical Support-III (1 post)
- Project: Generation and characterization of a pre-clinical model for the India-specific Agarwal founder mutations in Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Type 2A
- Funding: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
- Pay: Rs 28,000 plus 30% HRA per month
- Duration: Initially six months, extendable until the end of the project
- Walk-in interview: 5 October 2026 (Monday), 10:00 AM
Limb girdle muscular dystrophy type 2A is an inherited muscle-wasting disease. Founder mutations are variants that became common in a particular community through shared ancestry, and a mouse model carrying the India-specific variants lets researchers study the disease and test treatments relevant to Indian patients.
About the technical support role
- Work with laboratory rodent models on the pre-clinical model
- Carry out molecular biology and biochemistry research techniques for the project
Eligibility
- A three-year graduate degree in Life Sciences or related areas with at least three years’ experience, or a postgraduate degree in Life Sciences or related areas
- Experience working with laboratory rodent models and molecular biology and biochemistry techniques (required)
- Desirable: good written and oral presentation skills
Candidates who arrive after 11:30 AM will not be considered.
Pay and duration
- Rs 28,000 plus 30% HRA per month
- Initially six months, extendable until the end of the project
