Job Description
Welinq is looking for a quantum hardware engineer for its Next-Generation Technology Team in Paris. You will help develop and optimise the company’s quantum hardware, with a strong focus on atomic, molecular and optical (AMO) physics, working with engineers and scientists to design, fabricate and characterise the quantum devices behind Welinq’s industry-grade quantum networking products. The role suits a cold-atom experimentalist who wants to move from academic research into building products.

How to prepare for this application
- Prepare a short summary of the cold-atom apparatus you know best, and what you would change to make it product-grade.
- Read up on how quantum processors can be linked by photons, and what hardware that needs.
- Show examples of automation you added to an experiment.
- Ask how the Next-Generation Technology Team splits work between research and product engineering.
About Welinq
Welinq is a Paris start-up building quantum networks that link quantum processors (QPUs) inside data centres, based on neutral-atom hardware and qubit–photon interfaces. In 2026 it announced collaborations with Pasqal, OVHcloud and NVIDIA's CUDA-Q platform for networked and distributed quantum computing.
