Job Description
Wayve is hiring research scientists for Wayve Labs in London, its long-term research team for autonomous driving and robotics. The team says it has the backing to aim for multi-year breakthroughs rather than incremental gains, working where machine learning, simulation, robotics and real-world deployment meet. Areas include world and reward modelling and other frontiers of embodied AI.
At a glance
- Team: Wayve Labs
- Location: London (the same role is also open in Sunnyvale and Vancouver)
- Focus: World models, reward models and embodied AI
- Apply: open until filled (re-checked 14 October 2026)
What you would do
- Carry out research that pushes the frontier of embodied AI for driving and robotics
- Work on world and reward modelling, simulation and learning from real-world data
- Take research from idea to results that can shape Wayve’s products
- Publish and collaborate within a focused research team
Why this role matters
Wayve pioneered the end-to-end approach to self-driving, where one learned model replaces many hand-built modules, and carmakers are now adopting it. Wayve Labs looks further ahead, at world models that can imagine how a scene will unfold. For researchers, it offers frontier embodied-AI work with real driving data, based in London.
What Wayve is looking for
- A strong research record in machine learning, ideally in embodied AI, generative models or RL
- Ability to pursue ambitious, long-horizon research
- Strong implementation skills
Nice to have
- Experience with world models or driving data
Pay and location
Wayve does not list pay in this posting.
How to apply
Apply through the official Wayve job posting. Wayve’s posting does not give a closing date, so the role is open until filled; ResearchJobs.in will re-check this listing on 14 October 2026. Check the posting for location and work-authorisation details before you apply.

How to prepare for this application
- Long-term thinking: show a research direction you pursued over years, not months.
- World models: generative or predictive models of scenes are central.
- Read Wayve's work: know GAIA and LINGO, their published models.
- Three locations: the role is also listed in Sunnyvale and Vancouver.
About Wayve
Wayve, founded in London in 2017, develops embodied AI for driving: end-to-end models that let cars perceive and navigate without detailed maps, sold to carmakers. It also runs Wayve Labs for longer-term research and a new team building robot foundation models beyond cars.
