About the lending decision science role

• Design and implement ML solutions across the credit lifecycle: risk scoring, income prediction, collections and sales optimisation, and fraud detection
• Build model validation, monitoring and governance that meet regulatory requirements
• Help the decision-engine team deploy models in production with sub-second latency
• Develop new modelling approaches for new lending products and new geographies, and deliver scalable data pipelines
• Mentor junior team members and present recommendations to senior leadership

What Amazon is looking for

• At least 5 years of data scientist experience
• At least 5 years with SQL, Python, or statistical software such as R, SAS or MATLAB
• A master’s degree in a STEM field, or equivalent STEM work experience
• Experience applying theoretical models in an applied setting
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their use in reasoning and problem solving

Nice to have

• AWS services such as S3, Redshift, SageMaker, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda and EC2
• Clustered data processing with Hadoop, Spark or Hive
• Multi-team, cross-disciplinary projects
• Defining benchmarks for assessing GenAI model performance
