About the senior NLP engineer role
- Design and develop LLM-powered capabilities and agentic or multi-agent systems end to end, from idea to production
- Work with current tools in machine learning, deep learning and NLP, including LLMs
- Build and maintain scalable production systems that power AI features on the platform
- Optimise models and pipelines for performance, cost and scale
- Mentor junior engineers and influence peers and stakeholders, working with product, customer-facing teams and customers
- Follow the research literature, write technical blogs and publish at conferences such as EMNLP and ACL
What Observe.AI is looking for
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related subject with exposure to ML, deep learning, NLP or NLU
- An engineering mindset combined with the skills of an applied scientist
- 3+ years building large-scale NLP/NLU systems, including recent LLM applications and agent systems
- Strong fundamentals in ML and NLP and hands-on experience running ML systems in production
- Excellent Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow and Hugging Face
- Strong communication, collaboration and presentation skills
Nice to have
- Spoken language understanding
- Papers at top NLP conferences or workshops
- Relevant open-source contributions
