Adobe is hiring a Senior Manager for applied ML research in Bangalore to lead and grow the India machine learning team of Adobe Express’s AI Foundations group, bringing current research into an AI stack that spans agentic AI, imaging, motion and personalisation.

What you will do

• Drive ML projects that build new models for agentic and other generative AI scenarios in Adobe Express
• Own the ML lifecycle from ideation and prototyping to evaluation and deployment
• Contribute to foundational systems for orchestration, layout automation, image generation and motion storytelling
• Define evaluation strategies combining automated metrics, LLM-based judges and user feedback
• Collaborate with ML teams in other regions, engineering, product and Adobe Research
• Lead and mentor a team of 5–6 ML engineers, own hiring, and build an inclusive, high-performing culture

What Adobe is looking for

• 3–5 years managing ML engineering or applied science teams, delivering complex infrastructure or platform projects
• End-to-end ownership of team execution, prioritisation and dependency management
• Clear communication of technical trade-offs to product and non-technical partners
• Experience shipping models in production at scale
• Strong understanding of current multimodal reasoning research
• A record of growing engineers through mentoring and actionable feedback

Nice to have

• A master’s or PhD in computer science, data science, machine learning or a related field
• Model adaptation techniques such as PEFT, SFT or reinforcement learning
• Agent-based systems, intelligent assistants or planner-based AI
• Creative, imaging or multimedia experience, and publications at venues such as NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML or SIGGRAPH
