Job Description

This biomarker scientist job in Bangalore is in Takeda’s Biomarker Science and Technologies department, part of Preclinical and Translational Sciences. You will run the biomarker and bioanalysis work behind Takeda’s clinical trials from India. The role is mostly scientific project and vendor management.

At a glance

  • Position: Senior Scientist, Translational Biomarkers and Bioanalytics (full time, job R0187357)
  • Where: Bhartiya City, Thanisandra Main Road, Bengaluru, India
  • Department: Biomarker Science and Technologies (BST), Preclinical and Translational Sciences (PTS)
  • Experience: PhD + 3 years, MS + 9 years, or BS + 11 years
  • Posted: 1 October 2026
  • Apply: open until filled (re-checked 5 November 2026)

What the biomarker and bioanalytics scientist does

  • Lead project management and process work for a BST sub-team, with global stakeholders
  • Manage biomarker deliverables for several clinical trials at once, across Takeda’s therapeutic areas
  • Carry out bioanalytical and biomarker strategies for Takeda’s drug development projects
  • Plan timelines and link BST scientists with contract research labs (CROs), so data and reports arrive on time
  • Own the bioanalytical and biomarker outsourcing strategy and vendor oversight, including vendors in India and Asia-Pacific
  • Help run and improve the preferred-provider model for outsourced bioanalysis, and give scientific support to programmes

Why this role matters

A clinical trial is only as good as the samples and assays behind it. This role makes sure biomarker and drug-level data from many trials are measured on time and to the right standard. It is a good fit for a PhD scientist who wants to move from the bench into drug development.

What Takeda is looking for

  • PhD in a scientific discipline with 3+ years of experience, an MS with 9+ years, or a BS with 11+ years
  • Knowledge of drug development, clinical trial principles, and the role of bioanalysis and biomarkers in clinical studies
  • Experience managing biomarker deliverables for concurrent clinical trials, and sample management across projects
  • Working knowledge of ligand-binding assays, LC/MS, qPCR, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry, and of fit-for-purpose assay validation
  • A solid grasp of quality assurance needs for vendor compliance and data integrity
  • Clear written and spoken communication with scientists, clinicians and vendor labs across time zones

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the regulations for clinical trials and laboratories in India, China and Brazil
