Super-resolution microscopy breaks the classical diffraction limit of light, letting researchers see structures inside cells at the nanometre scale. Adaptive methods tailor the illumination to the sample, which can improve resolution and reduce light damage. Building such instruments combines optics, photophysics of fluorescent labels, electronics for timing pulse sequences, and software for control and image reconstruction, so the role suits physicists and engineers who like to build.

Pay and location

KTH lists a monthly salary for this postdoc but gives no figure. It is a temporary, full-time appointment of at most two years in Stockholm, Sweden, described by KTH as a first career step after the doctorate.
