Databricks is hiring a Senior Manager for Technical Solutions (Data and AI) in Bengaluru to lead and grow a regional team of data and AI experts who keep customers’ production workloads on the Databricks platform running smoothly, covering APJ and EMEA business hours as part of round-the-clock global support.

What you will do

• Manage a team of data and AI specialists covering customers across EMEA and APJ business hours
• Grow the team’s expertise so customers can adopt new Databricks products and features in production
• Engage top customers on their data and AI strategy, with field engineering and sales where needed
• Work with product engineering teams to make Databricks products better and easier to support
• Keep platform reliability high so customers meet their business goals

The team handles complex, long-running data engineering cases raised by Databricks customers, including performance tuning, keeping production jobs resilient and helping customers stabilise workloads on new products and features. The regional team works with teams in other regions to provide 24×7 coverage.

What Databricks is looking for

• At least 3 years of people management
• 12+ years in IT with a strong software engineering background specialising in data engineering, ideally with big data and cloud
• Experience leading engineering, technical support or consulting teams (support experience is not required; customer-facing experience is highly desirable)
• Hands-on production experience in at least two of: big data (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka), ML/AI projects, and data science or streaming
• Strong troubleshooting across distributed systems and customer-facing support leadership
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent technical field

Nice to have

• Spark expertise (the posting calls it a big advantage)
