Job Description

NVIDIA is hiring a Senior Deep Learning Research Engineer for its multimedia GPU team in Bengaluru or Pune to lead research on next-generation audio foundation models and take them from research into NVIDIA products, across audio, speech and video.

At a glance

  • Role: Senior Deep Learning Research Engineer, Multimedia GPU team
  • Location: Bengaluru or Pune
  • Experience: PhD plus 10+ years of industry or postdoctoral experience
  • Focus: generative audio and speech models, multimodal fusion, deployment on NVIDIA GPUs
  • Requisition: JR2020216
  • Apply: open until filled (re-checked 12 October 2026)

What you will do

  • Lead research, design and development of state-of-the-art deep learning models for audio and speech
  • Define the technical vision and R&D strategy for future audio, speech and multimedia algorithms, aligned with hardware advances
  • Train and optimise large generative models (diffusion, transformers, autoregressive models) with distributed training on large GPU clusters
  • Develop algorithms for speech transformation, spatial audio, audio enhancement and real-time video and audio enhancement
  • Optimise and productise inference models on NVIDIA GPUs and RTX Spark platforms as SDKs or microservices
  • Mentor senior engineers and scientists through code and design reviews

The posting describes the role as bridging deep learning research and production. The team works with NVIDIA Research, hardware architecture teams and product groups such as NeMo, AI4Media and Broadcast, and models ship as SDKs or microservices on NVIDIA GPUs and RTX Spark platforms.

What NVIDIA is looking for

  • A PhD in computer science, AI, applied mathematics or a related quantitative field
  • 10+ years of industry or postdoctoral experience developing advanced deep learning models for audio, image and video
  • Deep experience with generative models such as diffusion models, GANs, transformers, VAEs, NeRFs or 3D Gaussian splatting, and GRUs
  • Excellent Python and production-grade software design
  • Expert PyTorch and multimodal data pipelines (video decoding, audio DSP, spectrogram analysis)
  • Shipped high-impact AI products or a strong publication record at venues such as CVPR, ICCV, SIGGRAPH, NeurIPS, ICASSP or Interspeech

Nice to have

  • Deep knowledge of generative audio and speech architectures
  • Large-scale distributed training with Megatron-LM, DeepSpeed or PyTorch FSDP
  • C++ and GPU optimisation with CUDA, cuDNN, Triton or TensorRT
  • World models or physics-informed networks for video synthesis

Pay and location

NVIDIA’s posting does not state a salary. The role is based in Bengaluru or Pune.
